Wild cultivated motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) is hand harvested in June at peak potency and steeped for a minimum of six weeks in organic alcohol. Motherwort has a long history of use as a nervine sedative and bitters.
It is often used in formulas for heart palpitations or over-rapid heartbeat,
especially when brought on by stress and anxiety. It is used in heart
conditions that are associated with anxiety and tension and strengthens
and regulates heartbeat and regulates hyperactive thyroid. (Cech,

uterine tonic and is often used to bring on delayed or suppressed menstrual
